I spent the whole of yesterday doing sewing.

Sewing? I've haven’t done sewing since year 8 compulsory textiles and my sister hasn’t ever done sowing at all.
Yet, we were sitting on the lounge floor stabbing our misguided little fingers with tiny pin-prickle needles. Yay! ....not

My sister was the funniest to watch. I had made a furry teddy bear once before so I knew the basics - like when you cut out the pattern...

Um yeah, explanation: we've decided to try to make a litle doll.

Anyway, the basic is that we need to cut out the pattern with 5mm more give than the size we need so that there's room to stitch.
and I know that I should've but I was busy else where so I didn’t...I didn’t draw out the pattern for my sister to use.

Explanation: we've been designing the clothes ourselves (or rather, I’ve been designing them). It’s not hard; you just kind of guess, you know. For example: I guess if I sew around here it might look like a shirt. See? (Its trial and error)

Anyway, I told my sister to try to make her own. But she does everything wrong.
I look over to her and I say, "Um, if you cut on the line, where are you going to sew?"
And she pauses, and then begins chuckling helplessly at her own shortcomings. And starts again.
A few minutes later she's trying to tie a knot at the end of her length of thread. I teach her how and she tries. It was pretty good...if only the knot had been at the end of the thread and not perplexedly in the middle like a lost sheep. She starts again.
And then, she says, "how do you tie it off when you've finished the sewing?"
I show her and she attempts it for another few good minutes. Eventually she craves in and asks me again.
And I say, "What do you mean?? It’s tying a knot. How hard can it be?? Show me how you're doing it!"
She tries again with me over her shoulder. And she finishes with a perfect little compact knot in her thread. We both stare at it.
She says, “Never mind.”
I fell onto the floor laughing.
